Fly cutting the gears. Another brilliant way of achieving the unexpected! This was done on a CAD program (no. teeth, pitch, pressure angles etc). Blanks turned up and mounted as shown. The bottom pictures shows me heat treating the gear teeth. The gear meshing is checked……

  The last pic shows me turning the gearbox housing. Ok, did a bit of cheating here! Draughted on CAD  - the gearbox housing was printed in 1:1 scale. This was then stuck onto the plate and machined according to the profile.
